Axis Deer (also called
Chital and Spotted Deer) are native to Indian Himalayas, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and
Sikkim and introduced to Australia, New Zealand, the continental United States
and Europe, where they became favorites of parks and zoological gardens. They
are the most numerous and widespread of all introduced deer. |
